Board: DC Mega
Size: 156
Camber Option: Traditional camber. If we have to tell you what this is, go read another review.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 T1DB Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Resort: Breckenridge
Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, fresh corduroy, and firm to softening snow.
Flex: Super soft playful tips, stiffer under foot, and noticeably softer between the bindings. There was an abundance of torsional flex.
Stability: This board is stable to a point but it’s better described as being lively. You will feel chatter, you will feel snow variations, and if you get too gnarly for your own good you just might get bucked.
Ollies: The traditional camber gives this board pop. Which is nice for when riding around the mountain and wanting to turn it into your personal skatepark. Load it up and boost, that’s the best way to describe it.
Pop On Jumps: This board doesn’t disappoint on jumps. Take it through the small and medium lines to hone your skills then see if you’re man enough for the big jumps. The softer flex makes you not have to load it up as much.
Butterability: The softer tips are loose and playful which makes it ideal for buttering around and spreading that snow sliding love all over the place. The traditional camber will fight you a bit and cause you to have to be on your A game.
Jibbing: The tips lock in real well for presses as does the center for board slides. This board can handle a jib with ease. One thing to note is that the board does have rebound due to the camber profile, so be aware you will snap out of features.
Carving: If you know how to set an edge on camber you’re going to have a good time. If you don’t well prepare to eat shit, die, and hate your life. Well not really. Short quick turns or long drawn out ones do their thing.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that will jaunt out of the stunt obstacle training center and hit natural features.
Personal Thoughts: This board is fun and does what it’s intended to do. Which is great. For a traditional camber lover this board might be a good contender if they like a softer tip flex.
