Board: Marhar Bohemian

Size: 156

Camber Option: High Rise Rocker. Flat between the feet then slowly rising into a very pronounced rocker.

Bindings: K2 Indy

Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy

Boots: K2 T1 DB Size 10

My Weight: 170lbs

Resort: Breckenridge

Conditions: Sunny blue skies, 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow, and colder temps.

Flex: Compared to last years there’s a lot more flex. What you get is a more powder friendly flex with a fair amount of torsional give between the feet, stiff under foot, and then a bit more play in the tips. It’s not an overly soft board but it’s not super stiff. In my opinion it’s a hair above middle of the road making it more friendly for a powder twin.

Stability: This board is damp which helps suck up any chatter you might get. This made it super solid when sliding over a bit of ice or hidden mogul. The High Rise Rocker does have a little bit of flap in the tips when straight lining it down a steeper run, but that fluttering in the tip didn’t translate back into vibrations that would fatigue your leg.

Ollies/Pop: This board has snap. The rocker profile lets you easily load up and pop in fresh snow. This made it fun to snap off rollers and moguls. If anything this is one of those boards that takes no effort to get a fair amount of snap with.

Butterability: With this much rocker and the fair amount of flex between the feet you can really get the board up on its tips. I would suggest doing this in 6 inches of snow or more as if you do it on firm snow you will find yourself working a bit more for it.

Carving: Getting onto a fresh groomer this board sank its edge in with ease and ripped long drawn out carves. I tried to rip an aggressive Euro-carve and this board just wasn’t having it, regardless of how much I center flexed the board. Quick set up turns were nothing.

Rider in Mind: Powder hound that wants a true twin that’s playful.

Personal Thoughts: This board tracks really well in snow and you can notice the High Rise Rocker doing its thing. The tips cut through the fresh powder and funnel the snow back and off the tip. The softer flex of this board this year made it far more nimble especially in the trees. It was playful yet powerful when it needed to be.
