Board: Rome Agent Rocker

Size: 155

Camber Option: Mtn Pop Rocker 2.0. A hybrid camber mix with camber under foot and reverse between the feet.

Bindings: Flux DS

Stance: 21 Wide 12 Negative 9 Goofy

Boots: DC Lynx 8.5

My Weight: 155

Resort: Breckenridge

Conditions: Warmer late season snow conditions persisted. While it was good it was heavy.

Flex: Just a bit stiffer than middle of the road for an all mountain deck with a little bit more give in the tips.

Stability: Just enough stiffness and dampness to keep everything comfortable and under control. Plows through anything you really need or expect it to.

Ollies: Turborods are awesome. So much snap for so little effort. Probably one of the most poppy rocker/camber decks I’ve been on. Skate snap it or load and boost, whatever you want it will deliver.

Pop On Jumps: Pretty dang good snap off the lips jumps. The tips have just enough torsional give to let you get into the deck before you it initiates the snap.

Butterability: Keep it a little mellower and it’s got all the spread you’d ask for. The carbon in the tips provides a great platform to press into and snap with to spin around with. Really fun. Just don’t press into the Turborods too early or it may buck you out.

Jibbing: The Turborods provide a decent sweet spot to lock into just before you really engage them. If you do try and over press it, you really have to have some leg strength to keep everything in check and not get bounced out. It still pushes through kinks great and does lock into boardslides pretty well. Not your gypsy’s jibstick, but your ride-everywhere-park-deck kind of jib board.

Carving: I found it to be a pretty fun carving deck as well. You just get such good snap out of the tips you can just boost out of turns. It’s still rocker camber so if you really push it on super hard/firm conditions it can get choppy and break loose, but that’s being a bit nit picky. In anything softer it crushed it.

Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle guy getting after it. A true peak to park rider.

Personal Thoughts: I’ve found the last few years of the Agent to be more geared towards like all mountain charger and almost like freeride. They slightly softened up the tips this year. It really didn’t feel like it lost any stability but just gained a bit of forgiveness and ease. Rome succeeded here in making a good board better.
